XO Agency Case Study

Ninth & Pike

Brand

Returning to the start to inspire the future

XO partnered with Bambuza Hospitality Group to brand their new expansion restaurant: Ninth and Pike. Bambuza began in 2003 at the corner of 9th and Pike, in Seattle, WA, quickly gaining a loyal following at their grab and go counter for their local, artisan approach. After growing throughout the Northwest, Bambuza wanted to return to their beginnings as they looked at new chapters of growth.

Ninth and Pike, debuting at SEA-TAC airport fall of 2019, is a new offering that needed to capture the values that makes Bambuza who they are, and the fresh NW food offerings they are bringing to market. Our partnership explored ways to bring the heritage feel into the look of their brand, and what kind of language can both define them and set them apart, all rooted in a sense of place.

A NW Original. Fresh Northwest. Elevated Food, Lifted Spirits.

We helped put words around the feel and history of the experience, and the community oriented purpose that drives everyone at Bambuza. The result is an authentic brand that reflects who they are, where the brand comes from, and a hint at where they can go.

Manifesto: A NW Original

At Ninth & Pike we lift people up. We elevate. We pay homage to community and our history that brought us here, over generations. We shine a light on the people that serve here, the patrons that come, and the land that supports us with the fresh ingredients we use.

By combining our love of community and respect for the land, we create a family and build a special place: A NW Original.

“XO Agency knocked it out of the park on the first round with our Ninth and Pike logo. We loved seeing three different directions we could go in, but it was clear what look grabbed our attention from the start. Finding our logo and brand expressions gave us a fresh burst of excitement and energy for our launch!”
