We, the anonymous authors of XO content creation, are very excited to announce the addition of a new leader/content-lord for all things strategy.
Derek brings nearly 20 years of experience working with some of the biggest brands across multiple verticals, including Valvoline, Nissan, AT&T, The Recording Industry Association of America (owner of The Grammy Awards), Bonneville Power Authority and Zimmer Biomet. With a strong background in Content Strategy, Derek excels at setting clear goals and objectives and has a drive for developing effective strategies that deliver results.

Derek’s career spans multiple countries, verticals and disciplines, which is exactly why he’s so great for XO. His work includes building big brand activations and creation for mega-agencies like Critical Mass to enterprise digital builds for some of the world’s largest companies. That kind of depth is a perfect addition to Scott’s sense of self-importance and brand building experience.
We believe that every XO’r needs to be a deep generalist. Meaning they are an expert in their field, but understands and can dig into the adjacent skillsets. That’s what makes our work more integrated and efficient than the old agency model of “bill until they find out we don’t know what we’re doing”. Derek is deep in content strategy and leadership but also adds a creative element to brand and campaign work, a perfect blend to mix into the XO, uh, mix. Alright that’s enough puffery.
